Joshua's New Friend

My mom recently got Joshua a fish of his very own. To say he was excited would be a major understatement. He has lovingly named his new friend "Obi-Wan." Joshua has shown Obi-Wan all his favorite toys, and they even played legos together (ok, the fish just sat there and watched as Joshua played legos ... but you get the point). Joshua is taking his new role as caretaker very seriously, and looks forward each day to feeding his little friend. Welcome to the family Obi-Wan!

Happy Birthday to Me!!

Yesterday was my 27th Birthday (Wow- I'm getting old!) Jason took me to see the newest Harry Potter movie ... LOVED IT! Then we spent time at my parent's house. My mom made me my favorite dessert, Peach Cobbler (YUM!) and the kids told me "Happy Birthday Mom!" about a hundred times. It was great to spend the day with my family, and I'm looking forward to a fabulous 27th year!

Happy 4th!!

We had a great 4th of July this year (my favorite holiday!) It was rainy for most of the day, but the weather cleared just in time for the night's festivities. We had dinner with my family, then we all drove to the closest church for some fireworks. We laid out on blankets to laugh, talk, and play games. The kids loved the fireworks, and even three days later Joshua was still talking about them. Happy 4th everyone!!

With Family in Utah

Jason recently flew to Utah to be at his Grandpa Bitner's funeral. His grandpa was 93 years old, and a great man. The funeral was really more a celebration of his life, and a time for his posterity to come together. Seven of Jason's siblings were there, plus more aunts, uncles, and cousins than could squeeze into the church. Jason also spent some time with his good friend Mark- they haven't seen one another in almost three years. The kids and I were glad he had the opportunity to go, but we missed him like crazy and we were happy to have him home again!
