Play Ball!

Joshua is finishing up his first season of tee-ball.  His team, the Blue Rangers, has come a long way in 8 weeks.  They have learned how to run the bases, how to keep their eye on the ball, how to stand in "baseball stance", and how to slide into home (Joshua's favorite).
The games are absolutely hilarious, but Joshua takes them very seriously.  He insists on going early to every game so he and Jason can practice together.  It has been fun to cheer him on. (Actually Livi doesn't cheer, she bosses . . . "Joshua- KEEP YOUR EYE ON THAT BALL!")  We can't wait for coach-pitch next year.  Go Rangers!

Lovin' Summer!

We have been having a ton of fun this summer! (Actually, our air conditioning wasn't working for a few weeks and I convinced myself that I HATE summer. . . then it got fixed, and the world was right again.  I heart air conditioning).  We found an awesome splash park near our home, and we seem to find ourselves there most days.  The kids think it is the coolest place on earth.  A few pictures of the fun . . .
On the way home, it's tradition to stop at the snow cone shack.  Oh my gosh, they are SO GOOD!
I know the day has been a success when my kids look like this on the way home . . .

Hooray for summer!!  Don't leave us anytime soon!

Our Little Gymnast!

Olivia started gymnastics this month.  She LOVES it.  She may be the tiniest gymnast in the class, but she is most definitely the biggest diva.  She has learned to walk on the balance beam, do a forward roll, swing on the high bars, and she is working on her cartwheel . . .

Her favorite thing of all is to "stick it" after each trick.  She yells, "TA DA!" for everyone in the class to hear.  Let's just say, she isn't afraid of the spotlight.  Go Livi!

Father's Day

In honor of Father's Day, here are 10 reasons Joshua, Olivia and Ethan are CRAZY about their "Pa":

1. He wrestles, tickles and has pillow fights on a regular basis.

2. He tells great bedtime stories.

3. He always has candy in his suit pocket at church.

4. He isn't afraid to get on the playground with them.

5. He builds the best forts.

6. He doesn't water down apple juice like their mean mom.

7. He has special nicknames for each of them.

8. He's an awesome coach.

9. If they love Star Wars, he loves Star Wars.  If they love Tinkerbell, he loves Tinkerbell . . .

10. He never lets a day go by without telling them how much they are loved, and how proud he is of them.

Happy Father's Day babe!  Thank you for loving our kids the way you do!

P.S.  Joshua made this for Jason in Primary (Double Click to see it big).  He was pretty much right on . . . except for the "age 39" thing.  Thank goodness!

Pajama Party!

The kids had a primary activity this past weekend.  They got to wear their pajamas, eat donuts, and paint rocks . . . all the makings of a perfect party for these two.  (Now Livi insists on carrying her painted rock everywhere with her.  She says it's her pet . . . sigh!)

Best of State

Jason's restaurant, Blue Lemon, won Best of State this year.  It was a huge honor for such a young company, and they were presented with the "Best American Cuisine" award at a gala this past weekend.  The gala was a formal event at the Salt Palace, so we got to dress up. (I seriously felt like I was going to prom or something . . . minus the annoying wrist corsage.  SO FUN!!)  Here are a few pictures from the event . . .

In the car on the way to the Gala:

 Enjoying dinner together:

David Archuleta presenting some of the awards:  (There were other "celebrity" presenters, but he was the only one I really cared about . . . Ha Ha!)

On the stage after the event: (We tried to find Archie, but I guess he had already left).
 I don't know what's up with my "pose" here . . . oh well!

It was fun to be fancy and kid-free for an evening.  I'm proud of Jason and all the hard work he has put into Blue Lemon.  Congratulations Babe!
