"It's a Twister!"

If you don't like the weather in Colorado, wait 5 minutes! Seriously, Colorado weather is crazy. It will be sunny one moment, and snowing the next. Earlier this week, a series of tornados hit our city. We caught a picture of one that touched down a few miles from our apartment. Jason was so excited, he wanted us to go get a closer look. You can imagine my response to that suggestion ...

The Funny Things Kids Do and Say ...

Olivia ... What she does: I bought Livi some cute little Ugg boots for the upcoming winter, and she will not take them off! She wants to wear them with her shorts, her pajamas, and even her dresses. They aren't exactly made for the summer heat though ... Can you say "stinky feet"?

What she says: Livi's latest word is "Spongebob!" I think she's been spending too much time with the boys!

Joshua ... What he does: Last week we went to the pool and Joshua saw some big kids "diving" into the water. He decided he wants to learn how to dive also. He's been practicing in the bathtub, and he is quite proud of himself. I see a future Olympian in the family ... J/K.

What he says: Joshua is ALWAYS making me laugh. His latest observation was, "Look at that bug Mom. It's hideous!"

Another Day at the Zoo ...

We spent a fun, but hot, day at the Denver Zoo. It was over 100 degrees outside! The kids were thrilled to see the animals, ride the carousel, and share an ice cream cone ... ice cream makes everything better, don't you think? They loved to watch the polar bears swim in the underground water tank. Seeing Livi and Joshua next to the polar bear made me remember how little they are!

Girl Time!

My sister, Jesica, came into town for a week of girl time. We did a ton of shopping, eating (think dessert!), and beautifying. It was a blast having all the girls together again.

The Big 3-0!

Last week, we celebrated Jason's 30th Birthday. (Not quite over the hill, but getting close! J/K) He had to work most of the day, but we were able to go on a date that night. It was fun to go to dinner and a movie together, then celebrate with a banana cream pie- Jason's favorite. The kids surprised him with some new basketball shorts, though Joshua insisted his Pa really wanted a "toy pirate sword." It was great to have the evening together. Happy Birthday Babe!

Happy Shoe Day to Me!!

My Birthday was on the 24th, and Jason surprised me with a new "shoe wardrobe." (Does he know me, or what?) He bought me 4 adorable pairs, and I am already breaking them in. :-) It was a great birthday. We took the kids to a movie, went swimming, and ate lots of pizza and chocolate cake. I don't think it gets any better than that!
