Merry Christmas!

We had a fabulous Christmas this year! Some of our favorite moments were ...

New jammies on Christmas Eve. There's something about kids in jammies ... you just want to squeeze them!
Leaving cookies and milk for Santa. The kids used some "interesting" frosting techniques this year (like an ENTIRE bottle of sprinkles on one cookie) ...
Opening presents on Christmas Morning. Joshua's phrase with each gift he opened was, "It's just what I always wanted!!" and Livi couldn't get past the orange in her stocking ...
MY favorite moment: when Jason gave me this ... (If you know of my obsession with vacuuming, you know this is my absolute dream gift!)

It all ended so quickly. We can't wait for the coming year. Here's to an awesome 2010!!

Go Nuggets!

My sister and her family are in town for Christmas (Woo Hoo!) Last night we had box seats to a Denver Nuggets game. The girls didn't watch much of the game, but we had a blast taking pictures and catching up with one another. I heard the Nuggets won though. =) Jason and Joshua had fun watching the players and cheering on the mascot during his half-time performance. We are looking forward to lots of fun times this week!

Pajama Party!

Today, Joshua had a pajama party at preschool. I've never seen a kid so excited to wear pajamas in public! He was also excited because this is the one day I let him take his blankie to school. He usually has to leave it in the car seat until class is over (every day is a joyful reunion when I pick him up). He watched Polar Express, sang Christmas songs, and tried hot chocolate for the first time ... it was "gross". I can't believe I've never given my kids hot chocolate before (What kind of mother am I?!) It was a great way to start Joshua's Christmas vacation, and he is counting down the days 'til Santa comes!

Breakfast with Santa

This morning we went to our ward's "Breakfast with Santa." After scarfing down some pancakes, we waited in line for 45 minutes so the kids could tell Santa what they want for Christmas. As soon as we arrived at Santa's chair, Livi ran away scared. I finally stood in the photo so she could get her treasured candy cane. Joshua, who has known what he wants for Christmas since last Christmas (Star Wars legos ... big surprise), could only answer "I don't know" when Santa asked him what he wants. I finally answered for him. After all that, I was beginning to wonder why I do this every year. Then Joshua told me, "Mom, that was so fun!" and Livi agreed with her candy cane in her mouth. So I guess we'll be back again next year. Merry Christmas Santa!

It's Beginning to Feel a lot Like Christmas!!

We had our Relief Society Christmas Dinner last night. While my mom mingled with the other ladies, Tara and I focused on trying each and every yummy treat available ... Oh how I'll miss her when she leaves for school! Once we were full (or just too embarrassed to go back for more) we enjoyed a beautiful program on Christ and service. It put me in the Christmas spirit, and I am looking forward to a great December this year. Happy Holidays!

Happy Turkey Day!!

We had an awesome Thanksgiving this year, complete with all our favorite traditions ... a turkey bowl for Jason, a fun morning at the movies, a HUGE Thanksgiving feast, games with family, and of course an early morning shopping trip to celebrate Black Friday. It couldn't have been any better. We are thankful for the many blessings our Heavenly Father has given us. Happy Thanksgiving!

Night Out =)

Jason and My night's out are few and far between with his crazy work schedule, so they are usually deemed blog-worthy. Last night he took me to see "New Moon" ... LOVED IT! Our movie was followed by some shopping (no night out is complete without a little browsing) and Cold Stone. It's funny how being alone without the kids, even if we're grocery shopping or getting gas, is exciting. I love you honey!!

It's a Boy!!

We found out last week that Davis Baby #3 is a boy! We are so excited! This little guy is in for an adventure when he comes to our family. =) Joshua and Livi each chose a blankie for their little brother (If you know our kids, then you know they take blankies very seriously). Joshua cannot wait to have a baby brother of his own. They went with us to the ultrasound, and the conversation went something like this ...

Me: Joshua, did you hear that? The baby is a boy!

Joshua: (HUGE smile on his face) I hope he looks like me. Then we can name him Joshua!

Me: We already have a Joshua. That would be confusing to have two.

Joshua: We can call me Joshua #1, and the baby Joshua #2!

Hmm ... somehow I don't think Joshua #2 will make it into the runnings. We are seriously so grateful to know our baby is healthy and coming our way in March. (Holy Cow- How am I going to handle 3 kids?!)

Two and a Half!

We celebrated Livi's half-Birthday ... she is such a character! She wanted to wear her favorite jammies, and she loved to pose for the camera. Happy half-Birthday Princess! We love you!!

A Preschool Halloween

Joshua finally had his long-awaited Halloween party at preschool today. It kept getting rescheduled because of snow. Families were invited, and Olivia thought it was "awesome" that she could go to his school for a day. They decorated cookies, painted pictures and played games ... In the end, Joshua declared it "the best party ever!" Happy Halloween!

Trick or Treat!!

We had a great Halloween this year! Joshua wanted to be a Star Wars Jedi, and begged for Livi to be Princess Leia (or "Princess Layer" as they call her). My mom helped me create the smallest Princess Leia costume you ever saw, and the kids were a hit. =) After being snowed into our house for 3 days, we were a little concerned that trick-or-treating would be out this year. Fortunately, the day was beautiful and a lot of the snow melted. We bundled up and went to Jason's sister's house so the cousins could be together. The girls rode in style in a double stroller, while the boys ran from house to house telling jokes to the people who answered their door. We laughed all night, and ate A TON of candy ...gotta love Halloween!

Snow!

Winter came early this year to Colorado. The kids have already played in the snow several times, and they are loving every minute of it. Joshua informed me he NEEDS to learn how to make a really good snowball, and Livi is content just touching everything she sees that is covered in white. I love my kids ...I love seeing the world through their eyes. =)

Having Fun

Joshua and Olivia have a new love ... Grandma's horse. It's the same horse I rode as a little girl, and now they can't get enough of it. Joshua pretends he's a knight, and Livi rocks the horse back and forth so fast she's going to get whiplash. Yee Haw!

Sister Time

My sister, Jesica, came into town a few days before my brother returned home so we could have some quality "sister time" ... AKA shopping (There's something about being with your sisters that makes shopping more fun). We also went to lunch and watched lots of TLC. It was a blast. We miss you Sis!

Welcome Home Elder Dalby!

My brother, Ryan, returned from his mission in Panama this week. Jesica came into town so all the sibs could be together for the first time in almost 3 years. We had so much fun picking him up at the airport, going to dinner, and staying up until morning talking and playing Settlers of Catan (OK, that game is addicting!) The cousins had a blast playing together. Joshua and Livi already miss "Baby Kenna." Joshua was especially excited to see his uncle Ryan. He has prayed for him every day these past 2 years, and has already decided Ryan is his new best buddy. Welcome home Ryan! We love you!!
