Five Already!!
Joshua turned 5 years old yesterday ... time has really gone by too quickly. We love him so much!! Joshua brings fun and laughter into our family, and Olivia and Ethan couldn't ask for a better big brother.
We celebrated by spending the day as a family. Grandpa and Grandma Dalby gave him passes to "Party On"- a giant playland with blow-up toys and slides.
He was in heaven, especially when Jason raced him through the obstacle course and played "Star Wars guys" with him.
Once Jason was sufficiently exhausted, we headed to dinner at Costa Vida. Joshua was DYING to open his presents, so we let him rip them open as soon as we arrived. Of course he received Star Wars everything ... which was just what he had hoped for.
He was excited to get home and put his lego ships together inside his new tent.
The day ended with cake and ice-cream. Joshua said it was "the funnest birthday ever!" and must have thanked us a million times.
Happy Birthday Joshua! We love you!!

Life with Ethan
Ethan is 1 week old today. Oh how we love this sweet little boy! I worried that with two wild kids, I wouldn't have the time or energy to keep up with everything ... and I don't. Things aren't as organized as I'd like, and the couch is overflowing with laundry to be folded, but none of it matters. All I want to do is hold my baby and enjoy every minute of him.
Joshua and Livi think "Baby E-fin" is the greatest thing ever. They love to give him kisses, watch him sleep, and force the binkie into his mouth. We're lucky Ethan has such a sweet temperament!
Ethan was born during a snow blizzard, and it has been nice to stay cooped up in the warm house all week. The kids have played in the snow every day, and have entertained themselves making snow angels and burying their toys in the snow with shovels (which should be interesting come spring). Ethan and I have enjoyed watching them through the window and cuddling on the couch.
We feel so blessed to have Ethan in our family. He helps us remember what is most important, and we can't get enough of him!

Lucky Day
Six weeks ago, I lost my wedding ring ... This is what happens when your pregnant fingers become swollen and you have a 2 year-old who loves shiny things. As a last act of desperation, I told my children whoever found my ring would receive a trip to Toys R' Us (which my children equate with Disneyland) and any toy of their choice. The race was on! Poor Joshua searched for days ... he said he NEEDED some new Star Wars legos ... but the ring was never found. Yesterday, he found it!! It was in the couch cushions, which I swear have been checked a billion times. We both nearly cried with joy. The promised trip was everything Joshua hoped it would be, and he got his new lego set.
I'm so relieved to have my ring back, and I look forward to the day when it will fit again (Oh please let that day come soon)!
