School Days

Joshua and Olivia started school the end of August.  Joshua was nervous about being at a new school.  Olivia was . . . not.  Joshua could hardly eat his breakfast on his first day.  He was worried he wouldn't have someone to sit by at lunch, or do well in soccer at recess.  As I was getting Livi ready for her first day she informed me, "Mom, I'm not nervous.  I am really good at making friends!"  (The girl amazes me.)  They are both loving their classes now, and they have FABULOUS teachers.  I couldn't be happier.

Olivia with her BFF, Sara.  They are in the same primary class, the same kindergarten class, and they also happen to live next door to one another.  (Don't worry . . . what Livi lacks in size, she makes up for in personality!)

Summer, Summer!

The kids and I had so much fun this summer.  I am sad to see them go back to school.  Life just get's so crazy with early mornings, homework, after-school activities . . . I really wanted to make the most of our summer days together.  One night we set up tents in the basement for Joshua and Livi to sleep in.  They ended up sleeping in their tents every night until school started.  I loved listening to them tell jokes, watch movies, and eat popcorn 'til they finally fell asleep each night . . .

We also have a back-to-school party at the end of each summer.  This year we went to the outdoor pool in Lehi, and the kids had so much fun playing in the water. They even worked up the courage to go down the water slides on their own.  Oh, and they may have eaten their weight in snacks while they were at it . . .

The Children's Gardens

I took the kids to the Thanksgiving Point Children's Gardens in August.  They had so much fun walking along the trails, playing in the water, rolling down the grass hills and climbing on the rocks . . . LOVE that place!  Aunt Katie and her kids joined us for part of the day.  Cousins make everything more fun!

Partay!

We celebrated Jason's 34th birthday a few weeks ago.  (Sorry . . . I'm finding it harder and harder to keep up with this blog!)  The kids and I made him breakfast and we spent the day together at a trampoline place. We had so much fun bouncing, racing one another, and perfecting our mad trampoline skills.

We only had one major spill . . . me . . . flat on my face . . . in front of a huge crowd of people . . . sigh.  We really did have a great time though.  Once we were finished at the trampoline place, we headed to our favorite splash park in Highland and had a picnic with family.  We stayed late talking and laughing, until the park was closed and it was too dark to see.  Jason's parents surprised him with his favorite dessert- a banana cream pie . . . yum!

It was an awesome day.  Happy Birthday Babe!  You may be an old man, but you're still young at heart!  =)  Love you!!
