30

A few weeks ago I turned 30 . . . 30!  I've always been sentimental when it comes to birthdays (my own and my family's).  Every year my sister calls to wish me Happy Birthday and asks, "So, did you cry?"  As weird as that is, life just moves too quickly for me.  I know good times are coming, but I'm not always ready to say goodbye to where I've been.  Anyway, I said a final goodbye to my twenties.  They were good to me.  My life changed so much in those ten years . . . I went from a newly-married college student to a stay-at-home mom with four kids.  Crazy!
To celebrate 30, I told Jason I wanted a stress-free day with our family.  I wanted to sleep in, not spend hours getting everyone dressed and looking perfect, not do laundry or clean the house . . . I just wanted to relax and be with my kids. They made me breakfast, and the kids surprised me with cards they'd made (my favorite kind) . . .

Then we went to our favorite splash park in Highland and played in the water all day long . . . it was perfect!  Jason finished the day by making me dinner, then putting the kids to bed so we could watch about three hours of Drop Dead Diva . . . love! =)

It was a great birthday, and though I'm sad to see my twenties go, I'm also excited to see what the next ten years will bring.  Here's to 30!

Davis Family Reunion

We recently returned from a Davis family reunion at Bear Lake.  It was amazing to have the whole family together- 50 of us!  We stayed at the Papa Bear Lodge right next to the lake, and it was an awesome week.  Here are a few (ok, more than a few) pictures of our week . . .

All packed up and ready to go:

Papa Bear Lodge (The same lodge my family stays at.  We love it!)  :

Boy's Day Out.  The boys spent an afternoon at the golf course together:

Girl's Night Out.  The girls spent an evening at the Pickleville Playhouse.  We saw "The Hanging of El Bandito."  It was HILARIOUS!  (Some people can pull off a mustache.  I am NOT one of those people) :

Fun at the lake. We spent two days boating and playing on the beach.  Jason's brother bought a water trampoline for the kids to jump on, and we had fun riding Sea Doos, wake boarding, wake surfing and tubing together:

Hanging out at the cabin:

Milkshake runs:

Saying Goodbye:

We are so grateful for family, and we know these opportunities to get together are rare, so we appreciate every minute we have together.  We're looking forward to our next reunion in 2014.  We love Bear Lake!!
