My kids LOVE Play-Doh. (OK, so who doesn't?) It usually ends up in their hair, on their clothes, and in Livi's mouth, but they have a blast! I wish I were as creative as they are ... a girl can only make so many snakes. :-)
Every Wednesday, I take the kids to Story Time at the library. After Story Time, they choose new books to take home for the week. Joshua always picks the strangest books. I beg him to choose fun bedtime stories that we can enjoy together, but he insists on getting these educational books about animals, insects, the desert ... books I can hardly read aloud without falling asleep. This week, he was most excited about a book entitled "Snails, Clams, and their Relatives." Great ...

We have been working on counting with Joshua. I'm always asking him to count things we see in our house, in books, etc. Yesterday I asked Joshua, "How many kids do I have?" Without hesitation, he said "Three-Joshua, Livi, and Pa!"
We had a little family barbeque on Labor Day. The kids tasted their first corn on the cob, and they were loving life! Livi ate 2 entire cobs by herself, and Joshua told me, "This is awesome! You're the best Mom!"
Dinner was followed by a full-on wrestling match between Jason and the kids, after which Joshua informed me, "Mom, you're not the best now. Pa's the best!" I guess It was nice while it lasted ...
