Five and a Half!

We celebrated Joshua's Half-Birthday last week. He was SO excited. He chose waffles for dinner (surprise, surprise) and strawberry cake. Even though he loves the taste of pink cake, he didn't want his cake to be "a girl cake" so we covered it in white frosting. =) Happy Half-Birthday Joshua! We love you tons!!

Tact

Today I ran errands with my kids. I came to a realization... my children have NO tact. They say whatever they are thinking, and they say it loud enough for the entire store to hear. Pointing is also always involved. Here are just a few examples (Oh how I wish this was a comprehensive list):

Joshua: Mom, is that man real? Or is he a statue?

Olivia: That little grandma looks silly!

Joshua: I don't like that, but I guess I'll say thank you anyway.

Olivia: That mommy has a big tummy. (Please, please, please let her have been pregnant!)

Joshua: That man looks like he's a lady.

Olivia: Those people said I'm cute. I'm not cute. I'm a princess!

Ethan can't talk yet, but I'm sure he was taking notes. I had quite a headache when I left the store after giving them so many "mom looks," as we call them in our family. I guess I know what Family Night will be about tonight. =)

Half-Birthday Boy!

Ethan turned 6 months old, and had his very first half-Birthday. In our family, you get to choose the dinner on your half-Birthday, and you get a special half-cake. Ethan chose squash and pears for dinner (ok, I chose it for him... baby food isn't all that creative), and he LOVED the chocolate frosting from his cake. Happy half-Birthday sweet boy!

Are You Ready for Some Football?!

One thing I love about living by my family is going to my brother's football games. I almost feel like I'm in High School again...except for the three children I have with me. =) The kids love to set their toys up along the bleachers and raid the concessions stand. I love to talk with my fam and watch the cheerleaders. (Oh and occasionally we remember to cheer for Brad!) It's going to be a fun season. Go Titans!

Joshua and his lego army. Livi and her "dollies." Ethan with Aunt Brittney. He was terrified by all the loud cheering. Eventually, he fell asleep in Grandma's arms. Livi being spoiled by Grandma Dalby.
