Growing Up

Now that Joshua is 4, we decided it's time to say goodbye to "Blankie". He has been a good friend over the years, but is frankly disgusting. Last night, Jason had a long talk with Joshua about it. After some tears, he finally put his beloved Blankie into the garbage can. Four hours later, when we went to check on the kids, there was Blankie. Joshua had snuck him out of the garbage can and into his bed. Growing up is hard to do!

The Princess

Since the day Olivia was born, we have called her "Princess." I think the title has gone a bit to her head ... -She loves to look "pretty." She is constantly putting on my jewelry, rummaging through my makeup, and trying on new shoes at the store (I can only imagine what she'll be like as a teenager!)

-She loves to be in charge and boss people around.

-She makes an excellent damsel in distress. When I walk through the front door, she says "Mom!" Then she falls to the ground and raises her hand to me, whispering in her best princess voice, "help." (So dramatic!)

-She loves to sing and twirl in her pretty dresses.

We love our little princess!!

Zoo Fun

The weather was beautiful today! To celebrate, we went to the Zoo with Grandma Dalby, Uncle Brad and Aunt Tara. The kids were excited to see the animals. Before we arrived, Joshua asked me, "Will we get to see a fish?" Of all the animals, he most wanted to see a fish! We ate ice-cream cones, rode the carousel, and saw a newborn baby giraffe ... so cute! By the end of the day, the kids were exhausted. We love the zoo!

Happy Easter!

We had a fun (though rainy) Easter this year. The kids and I spent Saturday coloring Easter eggs and making an Easter cake at my parent's house. Sunday morning, Joshua and Livi thought they were in heaven when they found the Easter Bunny had come. I think the majority of their candy was eaten before church ... ok, I might have helped a little with that! Later, we joined my family for dinner and games. It was a great day, and we are SO ready for Spring. Happy Easter!

Super Powers

An enlightening conversation with Joshua ...

Me: "Livi ... Please stop crying."
Joshua: "Crying is Livi's super power."
Me: "It is? What's your super power?"
Joshua: "Being a Jedi."
Me: "Hmm ... What's my super power?"
Joshua: "Making waffles."

Am I exciting, or what?!

Happy Birthday Joshua!

Joshua is now our favorite 4 year old! To celebrate, Jason took him to the movies, and we had a Spider Man party with family. He was so excited for his cousins to arrive. He kept saying, "Come on Mom. Let's get this party started!" He loved all his gifts, which included lots of legos, a pirate dress-up set, and a new light saber. Happy Birthday Joshua!!
