Goodbye Preschool!

Joshua had his farewell picnic at preschool. He and Livi had fun running in the grass, eating lunch with Joshua's friends and getting their faces painted. Joshua will miss his teachers, Mrs. Gresham and Mrs. Terry, and all the friends he has made. I see lots of play dates coming this summer ... He's excited for Kindergarten in the fall, and I'm already getting teary-eyed just thinking about it!

3 Kids

OK ... I'm still getting used to the whole "3 kids" thing. Over the last two months, I've learned a few things about motherhod with 3 under 6 ... For example:

1. I will never have a room clean for longer than 10 minutes at a time.
2. Grocery shopping is best done at midnight when kids are asleep.
3. Dry-clean only clothing is NOT a good idea.
4. The mother's lounge at church is the most peaceful place on earth.
5. The portrait studio is the most stressful place on earth.
6. I don't need to be up to date on current events, as long as I know the "Wonder Pets" theme song.
7. When all else fails ... go to Chick fil-A.
8. The world revolves around nap time and bed time.
9. I will never again take my children bra shopping ...seriously, what was I thinking?
10. There is nothing I would rather be doing.

Field Trip

Joshua had his first-ever field trip. His preschool class went to a ranch as part of their animals unit. He pet the animals, climbed on old tractors, and held a real cow bone (of course this was his favorite part). Jason went with him to the ranch, and Joshua couldn't have been happier. I guess I'm not as fun when it comes to touching cow bones ...I'm actually ok with that. =)

Super Star!

I've mentioned a few times on this blog that Olivia likes to sing ... that's totally an understatement. She sings ALL the time: on the potty, in the car, during sacrament meeting, in the bath, at Wal Mart ... you get the point. She prefers to make up her own lyrics. Her most recent songs have centered around "Baby Efin" and "strawberry milk." You can imagine how excited she was when Jason surprised her with this- Her very own super star Hannah Montana ensemble (complete with barbie hair wig). Now she's really ready to take on Hollywood!

Cousin Time

My sister, Jesica, was here for a week visiting. The kids love "Baby Kenna" and they had fun playing together, watching Elmo together, and basically destroying the house together (Jesica and I both realized we are NOT ready for 4 kids!) I also got some good sister time in. We talked, shopped, and made cream puffs in the middle of the night ... so good! We were sad to see them go, but we had a blast while they were here.

Bowling Fun!

We took the kids bowling this weekend. Even though we are all HORRIBLE bowlers, our kids think bowling is a blast. If they knock down even one pin, it's screaming and high-fives all around. I only had to walk down the lane 3 times to retrieve balls that were too slow to make it (a record for us), Livi finally fit into a pair of bowling shoes, and Joshua got his first strike! All in all, the day was a huge success. I won't mention our final scores .. . let's just say I was beaten by a 5-year-old. It's a good thing I don't have any pro-bowling ambitions!
